U17.5 Boys Div 1


Beaumaris FC defeated St. Bedes / Mentone Tigers AFC

The Sharks swam through rough waters to dive into a 27-point victory against the Tigers. From the beginning of the match the Tigers pounced into action, scoring 3 goals from the get-go, gaining a 13-point lead. As the game continued the Sharks found their footing and scored 14-points in the second quarter to close the score margin. At halftime the Tigers managed to grip onto their lead by a single point. However, the Sharks began to find their rhythm. The Sharks were coordinated and efficient in the third quarter as they scored 5 goals. Heading into the last quarter with a strong lead of 22 points, the Sharks remained in control of the game, scoring a further 3 goals. The Sharks star scorer of the match was Liam McNamara with 4 goals. The Tigers Joshua O’Brien booted a classy 3 goals for his team.



Ormond JFC defeated by Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham

4.8.32 v. 8.9.57

Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham have come back strongly as they defeated Ormond by 25 points at E.E. Gunn Reserve. Springing into action straight away Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham created an 18-point lead in the first quarter and dominated the field. Bentleigh /Highett / Cheltenham were on top of their game, by halftime they had secured a 24-point lead. After halftime, Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham slowed their pace and Ormond started to rack up more points on the scoreboard. Closing the margin to a 17-point difference. As the game ended Bentleigh /Highett / Cheltenham successfully held onto their lead. Their star goal kickers for the match were William Warren (3 goals), Archie Grikis (2 goals) and Harrison Robson (2 goals).



Murrumbeena JFC defeated Waverley Park Hawks

9.5.59 v. 8.10.58

The Lions have secured a stunningly close 1-point victory against the Hawks at Murrumbeena Park. After their loss last week against St Peters the Lions came into the game with determination to redeem themselves and record another victory into their books.

Despite falling short by the final siren, the Hawks Levi Pitsas and Christian Meddis both booted 2 goals to keep the score difference in check. It was a tight match showing a full display of a talent and competitiveness amongst the teams.



AJAX JFC defeated St Peters FC

10.18.78 v. 4.6.30

AJAX secured an impressive 48-point victory against St Peters at Princes Park. AJAX continue to live up to their reputation this season as they scored a phenomenal 8 goals in the first quarter racking up a 46-point lead as the quarter ended. Despite the immense lead AJAX had, St Peters contained AJAX scoring in the second quarter to a mere 3 behinds. However, AJAX paid back the favor in the third quarter and prevented any scoring from St Peters. As the final quarter ended both teams scored 15 points. However, the lead that AJAX had was all they needed to secure the victory. AJAX star goal scorers were Gabriel Kagan (3 goals) and Dion Zukerman (2 goals).




U18 Girls Div 1


St Peters / Bentleigh defeated East Brighton Vampires JFC

St Peters / Bentleigh have secured an 18-point victory against the Vampires at Centenary Park. At the start St Peters / Bentleigh booted 2 goals to jump into a 4-point lead at the end of the first quarter. St Peters / Bentleigh continued to score and hold onto their lead. After halftime, St Peters / Bentleigh came back with the energy to take the game home, they managed to stop any scoring from the Vampires in the entirety of the third quarter.  As the final quarter came to an end the Vampires determination was no match for St Peters / Bentleigh as they kept control of the game at every turn. St Peters / Bentleigh’s Grace Bracken was the star scorer of the game with 2 goals.



South Melbourne Districts JFC defeated by Beaumaris FC

3.0.18 v. 6.8.44

The Sharks defeated the Swans by 26 points at Lindsay Hasset Oval. Continuing their winning streak the Sharks swum into action instantly. Scoring 2 goals in the first quarter and jumping to a 16-point lead. As the game continued the Sharks held the lead, however the Swans started to put more pressure on them. By the third quarter the Sharks held the game with an 18-point lead. During the final quarter the Swans were unable to score, and the Sharks increased the score margin to secure a 26-point victory. Shark’s Edie Dooley and Gemma Holland both booted 2 goals to guide their team to victory.


 

Prahran JFC defeated by Waverley Park Hawks

3.4.22 v. 6.6.42

The Hawks have soared to another victory as they defeated Prahran by 20 points at Toorak Park. At the beginning of the match, it was anyone’s game as there was only 7 -points difference. By halftime Prahran managed to lessen the margin to 6-points, closing in on the Hawks. However, in the third quarter the games scoring slowed down as Prahran only managed to score 2 points. Despite Prahran closing the difference to just 5-points, the Hawks managed to swoop on the game and stop any scoring for Prahran. The Hawks Isabel Metaxas booted an impressive 3 goals.
