Beaumaris U17.5 Boys GREAT WHITES def. Ormond U17.5 Boys EDWARDS by 14 points

Beaumaris 7.11 (53) def. Ormond 6.3 (39) | William Street Reserve


Beaumaris claimed a strong 14‑point win over Ormond in their U17.5 Division 2 clash at William Street Reserve, overturning an early deficit and controlling the game from the second quarter onwards.


Ormond held the early edge with 3.2 in the opening term, taking a narrow lead into quarter time, but Beaumaris responded sharply in the second, adding 1.4 while keeping Ormond scoreless to swing the momentum and move ahead by eight points at the main break.


The third quarter tightened again, with both sides trading goal - Beaumaris adding 1.2 and Ormond replying with 2.1 - trimming the margin to just three points heading into the final term. But Beaumaris finished strongest, piling on 2.5 in the last quarter while restricting Ormond to a single goal, sealing a composed 53-39 victory.

Beaumaris U15 Girls GREAT WHITES def. Bentleigh U15 Girls COSTELLOE by 7 points

Beaumaris 3.6 (24) def. Bentleigh 2.5 (17) | King George Reserve


Beaumaris claimed a seven‑point win over Bentleigh at King George Reserve, overturning a slow start with a strong middle‑to‑late game surge.


Bentleigh opened well, controlling the first quarter and taking a two‑point lead into the break after keeping Beaumaris scoreless. The momentum flipped sharply in the second term, with Beaumaris piling on 2.3 while Bentleigh were held to their existing tally, swinging the margin to 13 points at half time.


Bentleigh responded in the third, kicking 2.2 and holding Beaumaris scoreless to level the scores heading into the final quarter. But Beaumaris finished strongest, adding 1.3 while restricting Bentleigh to a single point, securing a composed 24-17 victory.


East Malvern U16 Girls BEASLEY def. Murrumbeena U16 Girls LIONESSES by 18 points

East Malvern 6.3 (39) def. Murrumbeena 3.3 (21) | Basil Reserve


East Malvern produced a composed, four‑quarter performance at Basil Reserve to claim an 18‑point win over Murrumbeena.


They set the tone early with 1.2 to nil in the opening term, controlling the game and keeping Murrumbeena scoreless. The pressure continued into the second quarter, with East Malvern adding another goal while restricting Murrumbeena to a single behind to take a 13‑point lead into half time.


The third term proved decisive. East Malvern broke the game open with 3.0, while Murrumbeena managed 1.0 in response, stretching the margin to 25 points at the final change. Murrumbeena finished strongly with two late goals in the last quarter, but East Malvern’s earlier dominance held firm as they closed out a 39-21 victory.


St Kilda City U12 Mixed ROSS def. St Bedes/Mentone Tigers U12 Mixed RED by 4 points

St Kilda City 5.3 (33) def. SBMT 4.5 (29) | Peanut Farm Reserve


St Kilda City pulled off a determined four‑point comeback at Peanut Farm Reserve in their U12 Mixed Division 3 clash with SBMT.


SBMT controlled the early stages, opening with 2.4 to St Kilda City’s single point to take a strong lead into quarter time. St Kilda City steadied in the second term, adding 2.1 while holding SBMT to just one additional goal, trimming the margin to nine points at the main break.


The third quarter tightened further, with St Kilda City adding 1.0 and SBMT u nable to extend their total, leaving the game poised at three‑quarter time. The final term belonged to St Kilda City, who surged home with 2.1 while restricting SBMT to a single goal, overturning the deficit and securing a hard‑fought 33-29 victory.

Bella-Cruize Appelman

Waverley Park Hawks U16 Girls FLACK

A very special milestone for our Player of the Round for Round 13, Bella-Cruize Appelman, who celebrated her 150th game for the Waverley Park Hawks. Playing for the Hawks since 2016, Bella is only the third girl to reach this milestone at the SMJFL, and the second to do so at one club. Congratulations, Bella!
