U17.5 Boys Div 1


Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham defeated by Waverley Park Hawks

The Hawks have soared to another victory against Bentleigh/ Highett / Cheltenham at Le Page Park. At the beginning of the game the Hawks jumped into action scoring two goals in the first quarter against Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham’s single point. Off to a promising start the Hawks were in for a surprise when Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham suddenly kicked into gear with a stunning 4 goals in the second quarter. Gaining the lead by 11 points. However, the game took another turn as the Hawks regained the lead in the third quarter and stopped Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham from scoring. From three quarter time the Hawks dominated the game and maintained their lead to finish with a 25-point victory.



 St Peters FC defeated Murrumbeena JFC

St Peters brought their A game to the field defeating the Lions by 51 points. St Peters came to the field with determination and pulled out all the stops. At quarter time St Peters had already booted an amazing 5 goals taking a 19-point lead. By halftime St Peters had a stunning 9 goals under their belt and were showing no sign of stopping. At three quarter time St Peters had an astonishing 12 goals, double what the Lions had. An impressive performance by St Peters as they snagged a total of 16 goals pulling them into the ranks of one of the highest scoring games of the season and the fourth highest score.  St Peters had a whopping 6 key goal scorers throughout the game, Lewis Richardson (4 goals), Matthew Logan (3 goals), Brody Joyce (3 goals), Lachlan Browne (2 goals), Kyan Morgan (2 goals) and Jai Smith (2 goals). Despite being down the whole game, the Lions held on strong and stayed determined till the final siren.

St Peters are now preparing to go against the top of the ladder, AJAX JFC, a match sure to bring on some good competition ahead of finals!



AJAX JFC defeated Beaumaris FC

AJAX have secured an amazing 49-point victory against the Sharks at Princes Park. AJAX have once again shown us this season that they are ready to dominate and control the field. After the first quarter, AJAX had scored a strong 4 goals and limited the Sharks to a single goal. By halftime the Sharks had closed the score margin however AJAX still held the lead by 17 points. AJAX scored an astonishing 7 goals in the second half of the game. AJAX’s star goal scorers were Hugo Mack Krasnostein (3 goals), Manny Micmacher (2 goals), Gabriel Kagan (2 goals) and Dion Zuckerman (2 goals). Although Beaumaris had a tough match against AJAX their key goal scorers were Campbell Brown and Liam McNamara with 2 goals each.


 

St. Bedes / Mentone Tigers AFC defeated Ormond JFC

In the tightest competition of the U17.5 Boys Div 1 round the Tigers defeated Ormond by 10 points at Mentone Reserve. Despite the close final score the beginning demonstrated the Tigers had early control of the game. At quarter time the Tigers had secured 31 points on the board contrasting Ormond’s 9 points. However, in the second quarter Ormond scored 25 points and started to close the gap to 6 points. Although Ormond was closing in on the Tigers score margin, the Tigers managed at every turn to maintain their lead. The Tigers had a total of 8 goal scorers throughout the game, flexing their kicking skills.


U18 Girls Div 1

 

Beaumaris FC defeated St Peters / Bentleigh

The Sharks have continued their season long winning streak with a 4-point victory against St Peters / Bentleigh at Beaumaris Secondary College. Once again, the Sharks have dominated on their home ground booting 4 goals by quarter time and securing a 13-point lead. By halftime St Peters / Bentleigh had closed in on the Sharks and narrowed the score margin to just 7 points. As the competition grew tighter the pressure on the Sharks to maintain the lead was ever-present as the score margin shrunk to 2 points at three quarter time. However, in the last quarter the Sharks snagged a goal to maintain their lead, whereas St Peters /Bentleigh only managed 4 points. The Sharks star scorer was Amelia Hart with 3 goals. Likewise, St Peters / Bentleigh star scorer was Sienna Allan with 3 goals as well.



South Melbourne Districts AFC defeated by Waverley Park Hawks

The Hawks have dominated the field securing a 52-point victory against the South Melbourne Districts. Hawks swooped on their opposition scoring 4 goals right from the get-go. Although they jumped into action the Hawks could not score any more goals until the last quarter of the game. Despite only scoring one point in the last quarter the defence that the Swans put up was enough to keep the Hawks at bay throughout their goal-less second and third quarter. The Hawks star goal scorer was Isabel Metaxas.



Murrumbeena JFC defeated Eat Brighton Vampires JFC

The Lionesses have roared to a 13-point victory against the vampires at Murrumbeena Park. The games intensity was evident as the score margin reached a high of 13-point difference by the end of the match. Although the Lionesses held the lead the whole game the score was kept in check by the Vampires. At three quarter time the scores lined up with 18 points for each team, leaving the last quarter as the games decider. In the final quarter the Lionesses sprung to action and scored another 2 goals whereas the Vampires only managed a single point. The star goal kickers for the Lionesses were Grace McIntyre and Tara Magnanini with 2 goals each. The Vampire’s Peggy Martin also booted 2 goals for her team.
