Waverley Park Hawks defeated Beaumaris FC

In the first finals round of 2025 the Hawks managed to soar to a 10-point victory and keep their season alive in an elimination final against the Sharks.
The match was anyone’s game as the Hawks took the early lead, but the Sharks snatched it right back at halftime. Securing their new lead, the Sharks’ determination was beginning to bare their teeth.
However, the Hawks swooped in and regained the lead by a single point as the third quarter came to an end. In the final quarter the two teams battled it out! The Sharks fell short as the Hawks managed 2 more goals to secure their win. The Sharks Liam McNamara snagged 4 goals, bringing his total tally to 49 goals for the season.
Following their victory the Hawks have secured a position in the preliminary final next Sunday against Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham. This preliminary final will be the decider on who will play AJAX JFC in the Grand Final.
AJAX JFC defeated Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham

In a nailbiter this Sunday for their qualifying final, AJAX has secured a 9-point victory to send them through to the Grand Final.
Throughout the match there was never more than a 9-point difference between the teams at the end of each period. From the start AJAX leapt in front and held on strong till halftime. After halftime, Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham scored a stunning 3 goals to jump into a single point lead as the quarter ended. The game came down to the final quarter and even though Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham gained a late lead they were unable to keep up with AJAX as they only scored 3 behinds in the last quarter. Scoring two goals was enough for
AJAX to secure the victory and march towards the Grand Final.
The star goal scorers from Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham were Tahj Megna (4 goals) and Spencer Saarinsen (2 goals). AJAX’s Hugo Mack Krasostein scored 2 goals, making his total goals kicked 39 as his team heads into the Grand Final.
U18 Girls Div 1
Beaumaris FC defeated St Peters / Bentleigh

The Sharks swam to an extraordinary 77-point victory against St Peters / Bentleigh at Hurlingham Park. Off to a strong start there was no stopping the Sharks scoring as they nailed goal after goal. By halftime, the Sharks landed 7 goals. From there on the scoring slowed however, the Sharks’ strong lead kept them confident as they finished the game with 11 goals. The star goal scorers of the match were the Shark’s Amelia Hart (3 goals), Gemma Holland (3 goals) and Addisyn Lees (2 goals).
Despite their loss St Peters / Bentleigh showed determination as they continue throughout the match to challenge and slow down the Sharks. St Peters / Bentleigh are now preparing to face off against the Waverley Park Hawks in the Preliminary finals.
The Sharks are through to the Grand final and will compete against the winner of the Preliminary final.
Murrumbeena JFC defeated by Waverley Park Hawks

The Hawks have defeated the Lionesses by 45 points at Murrumbeena Park. As the first siren went the Hawks flew into the lead, with 15 points in the first quarter. As the game went on the Hawks continued to control the ground, contributing to 5 goals by halftime and another 3 before the final siren.
Playing on their home ground, the Lionesses tried their absolute best to compete with the intensity that the Hawks brought to the field. However, the Lionesses scored 9 points in the final quarter to close the score margin, proving that their drive and determination was present throughout the game despite the impending result.
The Lionesses have now been knocked out of the finals series. The Hawks will go on to play St Peters / Bentleigh in the preliminary final next week, for the chance to see who is in the Grand Final with Beaumaris FC.
