Statement from South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL) Chief Executive Officer Sarah Loh

The SMJFL has been working with its member clubs over the past few months towards a safe return to the 2020 season commencing Friday 10 July.
The league has been following AFL Victoria’s (AFLV) Return to Play Protocols which have been endorsed by the Victorian Government’s expert panel. The league has also been working with its member clubs to provide education and training. All clubs have provided plans to Local Government Councils to return safely to competition and training which have been accepted.
The League has, and continues to follow all government advice. The primary concern of the league is the safety of its players, volunteers and staff and is monitoring the current situation and will respond accordingly.
