The purpose of this memo is to provide an update regarding the 2020 SMJFL return to train date.
The SMJFL, along with other Victorian football leagues, have just been provided with the attached memo from AFL Victoria (AFL Vic) to be released to the public on Monday regarding a return to community football.
AFL Vic will release their return to play protocols early next week and has endorsed a return to sanctioned training beginning Monday 25 May. However, the SMJFL asks that clubs refrain from formal training until notified otherwise by the SMJFL.
The eight Metro Football League CEOs will be briefed by AFL Vic on Monday 18 May about the return to play protocols. The league will require time to review all the information provided to ensure it meets the league’s requirements. Once a review has been completed, the league will provide clubs with the information.
