Monash University U17.5 Boys Division 1

 

 

AJAX JFC defeated Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham

AJAX JFC continues to be the team to beat as they battled the field against Bentleigh/Highett/Cheltenham at Princes Park. Their star goal kicker remains Hugo Mack Krasnostein with an impressive 4 goals, and both Asher Franks and Nicholas Rothschild with 2 goals.


Despite the loss, Bentleigh/Highett/Cheltenham managed to put up a fight and double their score after halftime showing immense determination in their game, however, AJAX managed to hold their steady lead to a 66-point victory. AJAX remains at the top of the ladder heading into round 5 with 3 wins to their name.



Beaumaris FC defeated St Peters FC

Beaumaris Sharks have managed to hold onto their 3rd position on the ladder ahead of St Peters FC after their 7-point victory at Banksia Reserve. The intensity came down to the last quarter with the Sharks managing to kick a goal and three points to secure the win. The sharks swam to victory with their top scorers Liam Mcnamara (3 goals), Harvey Kenny and Thomas Bailey (1 goal).


St Peters put up an impressive game and managed to win the second quarter in the tight race, however their efforts were no match for the strong performance of the Sharks who managed to maintain their lead throughout the nail-biting game.



Monash University U18 Girls Division 1

 


Prahran JFC defeated South Melbourne Districts AFC


Prahran JFC have managed to secure their second win of the season against South Melbourne Districts AFC at Toorak Park. With their confidence off the back of their win last week, Prahran managed to score 22 points in the first quarter. Prahran held their opposition to no score until the second . At every turn of the game Prahran managed to secure their lead and extend it for an impressive 21-point victory.


Although the odds were against them South Melbourne managed to disrupt Prahran’s plans, and their top goal scorer Lily McCallum put them on the board with 2 goals showing their determination till the final siren.



St Peters / Bentleigh defeated Murrumbeena JFC


St Peters / Bentleigh have bounced back since their loss last week and managed to win by an impressive 33-points against the Murrumbeena Lionesses at Centenary Park. St Peters / Bentleigh brought their A-game to the weekend and fended off any kind of opposition scoring until the second quarter. St Peters / Bentleigh managed an impressive 3 goals in the first quarter alone. Both Emma Middleton and Ciara Scahill scored 2 goals setting them up for success as the final siren rang out.


The Lionesses brought incredible resilience to the game and held their determination and competitiveness right till the end.
