Monash University U17.5 Boys Division 1
Prahran JFC 6.5.41 def by Bentleigh 9.4.58
Commencing in a clinical manner at Toorak Park, Bentleigh established an early lead via three straight goals to Prahran’s reply of one major score. The second quarter saw Prahran fight back valiantly, with 3 quick goals reducing the deficit to 10 points at the main break, largely thanks to Sam Seccull. As both teams battled fiercely for control in the third team, Bentleigh’s determination and accuracy in front of goal kept them in the contest, as the attacking efforts of Charles Nailon, Thomas Washington, and Luca Carcelli, opened up a 22-point lead for the visitors. Prahran managed only a single behind in response, struggling to break through Bentleigh's robust defence. The final quarter saw an exhilarating display of football as Prahran mounted a spirited comeback attempt, adding three goals and a minor score to their tally. However, Bentleigh held firm and capitalised on their early efforts, scoring two more goals to seal their victory at 58-41.
Waverley Park Hawks 6.6.42 def by St Bedes/Mentone Tigers 7.4.46
A rollercoaster from start to finish, Waverley Park welcomed St Bedes/Mentone in what was a heart-stopping clash and one of the games of the season. Upon the first bounce, both sides attacked the football with intense pressure and tenacity. Waverley’s Franki Kromidellis, William Rice, and Daniel Huggins inspired an early lead for the hosts, scoring 3.2 to the Tiger’s 2.2, wrapping up the quarter at 20-14. The home side continued their momentum into the second quarter, extending their lead to 18 points at halftime. St Bedes/Mentone struggled to find their rhythm, unable to add to their first-quarter score. Despite an uneventful second quarter for the visitors, the third term witnessed stunning comeback from St Bedes/Mentone. Storming back into the game through key goals from Daniel Plotkin, Luca Scott, and William Mazzeo, the Tiger’s kicked 5.1 to overcome the deficit and take a narrow lead into the fourth. The final term was a thrilling battle of wills, as both sides channelled every fibre of skill and effort to claim a hard-fought victory. Waverley Park looked dominant on the ball and created multiple scoring chances; however, 3 minor scores highlighted their inability to capitalise on their defensive and midfield efforts. Holding their nerve and absorbing the hosts pressure, St Bedes/Mentone scored one behind to seal a dramatic 46-42 victory.
AJAX 6.14.50 def Mordialloc-Braeside 4.7.31
Setting the pace early, an abundance of scoring efforts from AJAX saw them take the lead 13-7 at the end of the first quarter. Their inaccuracy in front of goal was initially a concern, as they struggled with 1.7, but their defensive solidity ensured they kept Mordialloc-Braeside at bay. The second term saw AJAX continue to build their advantage and improve their scoring efficiency, leading 26-15 at halftime. With work still to do, the hosts irradicated their inefficiencies in the third quarter. AJAX turned a corner and extended their lead to 24 points with a strong showing of teamwork and skill inside 50 from Bailey Nussbaum and Samuel Ickowicz, as they began to dominate the game and showcase their depth. AJAX’s relentless pressure paid off in the final term, however, did not go unquestioned by Mordialloc-Braeside. The visitors managed to add two goals and one behind, but their late surge was not enough to overcome the deficit and an additional 10 more points from the hosts who secured a 19-point win.
East Sandringham Rovers 4.3.27 def by East Brighton Vampires 8.11.59
East Sandringham Rovers started strongly, taking an early lead with a 12-1 advantage by the end of the first term. Their defence was solid, but their scoring opportunities were limited as they struggled to capitalise on their chances. The second quarter saw East Brighton their strides and their attacking game come to life, scoring 3 goals thanks Noah Velten, Angus Zufic, and Orlando Hall. Despite only add two behinds to their tally in the second term, the third quarter saw East Sandringham slot away a couple of quick goals to reduce any signs of an East Brighton comeback. However – in an unexpected turn of events, East Brighton began to exercise full control of the match, as their accurate kicking and relentless pressure were beginning to pay off. In the final quarter, the Vampires delivered a powerful performance and late surge, scoring 6 goals to no reply, coming from behind and putting the seal on a commanding 59-27 victory. Goals from Tom Raymond, Archer Grant, Luke McGinness, and Flynn Dorgan were all crucial in turning the tide at Boss James reserve. The win retains second on the Monash University U17.5 Boys Division 1 for the Vampires.

The final term saw Fitzroy secure the win by adding their first major score the week, finishing with 9 points. In a dominant display at Victoria Park, Kew Comets secured a resounding 76-point victory over St Kilda City. Despite the challenging scoreline, St Kilda City displayed great sportsmanship and resilience, but were unable to inhibit the Comets impressive performance in the second half. Taking a 60-point lead at three quarter time, braces from standout performers Ebony Jago, Diya Asthana, Chloe Bown, and Isabelle Godfrey, propelled Kew towards an emphatic win at home.
Banyule 0.0.0 def by Prahran JFC 14.12.96

Quicky asserting control over the game, Warrandyte secured a quick goal early in the first term to gain the lead into quarter time, with their sharp ball movement and relentless pressure setting the stage for what was to come. Warrandyte’s Lucy Prentice and Ava Radle stole the show in the second quarter by adding four goals, extending the home side’s lead dramatically and establishing a comfortable 32-point margin. Whilst struggling to convert inside 50, Beaumaris were determined in the face of a formidable opponent, containing Warrandyte to only two minor scores in the third term. Similarly, Warrandyte’s defence too proved impenetrable, preventing Beaumaris from making any significant inroads and maintaining a 34- point lead. The final quarter brought a spirited effort from Beaumaris, who finally broke through Warrandyte’s defence to score 2.1, whilst Warrandyte responded with two goals of their own, sealing their victory with a final score of 33-point victory.
