SMJFL preferred partner Thunder Insurance has been nominated for the Insurance Business Australia Awards for 2020.
Thunder Insurance co-founder Eayl Machlis has been nominated for Specialist Broker of the Year.
Thunder Insurance was founded in August 2017 by Mr Machlis and co-founder, Paul Cowley.
Mr Machlis said he was honoured to be considered by his fellow industry peers and colleagues for the award.
“It means a great deal to us,” Mr Machlis said.
Mr Machlis said Thunder Insurance has endeavoured to create a “challenger insurance brand that blends a combination of fintech capability, with hands-on delivery of our value proposition.”
Since 2017, Thunder Insurance has grown to be a leader in cyber and gaming insurance.
The Interactive Gaming and Entertainment Association (IGEA) is a client of Thunder Insurance and have facilitated connections to the local games industry which has provided Thunder Insurance with an education platform to highlight insurance exposures relevant to the games sector ranging from Professional Indemnity, Business Insurance and Management Liability.
“We have been the only insurers that have insured the risks within the Gaming Industry consistently,” Mr Machlis said.
With over 25 years’ experience across all lines of insurance between the duo, Mr Machlis said Thunder Insurance’s main aim is to “bring the best of our industry to the SMJFL community.”
