The South Metro Junior Football League is excited to announce a new partnership with Lamaro’s Hotel.
Motivated by a shared love of sport and the local community, this partnership seeks to strengthen local junior sport and provide a place for the SMJFL community to gather, from a casual bite after the game on Sunday to more formal affairs like club functions and the annual SMJFL Thank-You Dinner.
Lamaro’s Hotel Proprietor Paul Dimattina has a strong connection to football and the SMJFL, with his own children having made their way through the league at St Kilda City Junior Football Club. Paul is a strong believer in the power of sport, having been involved in team sports all his life, including playing for the Western Bulldogs in the AFL.
Speaking on the partnership, Mr. Dimattina said, “We are excited to enter into this partnership with the SMJFL and give back to the community, particularly team sport which is so important for kids’ development. We look forward to bringing the SMJFL community together over good food and playing host to memorable moments for the clubs.”
SMJFL Chief Executive Officer, Jamie Howden, echoed Mr. Dimattina’s sentiments, adding, “Sport is a powerful tool for building community and creating a sense of belonging. The SMJFL is delighted to partner with Lamaro’s, whose strong commitment to supporting local communities aligns closely with our values. Together, we look forward to extending that sense of connection beyond game day while supporting the ongoing delivery of our league.”
