Bentleigh / Highett/ Cheltenham defeated Murrumbeena JFC

Bentleigh/Highett/Cheltenham have booted their way to a three-match winning streak as they won by 70 points against Murrumbeena at Bentleigh Recreation Reserve. A strong performance from Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham saw them, scoring an impressive 9 goals before halftime. Their star goal scorers were Archie Grikis (6 goals) and Spencer Saarinsen (4 goals). With perseverance the Lions held off Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham by slowing their goal scoring in the last quarter to only two goals and six behinds, however Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham’s efficiency and poise won them the match.
St. Bedes / Mentone AFC defeated St Peters FC

The Tigers have pounced to yet another victory against St Peters this season at Mentone Reserve. The Tigers held possessions from the start, gaining a strong lead of 7 snags by halftime. Joshua O’Brien scored 3 goals matching his past three goals in their last game against St Peters. St Peters key goal scorers of the match were Kyan Morgan (2 goals) and Lucas Nanfra (2 goals). Although the point margin grew to a 31-point difference by three quarter time. St Peters limited the Tigers to a mere goal and behind in the last quarter to tighten the difference by the final siren.
Ormond JFC defeated Beaumaris FC

Beaumaris and Ormond battled it out on the field this weekend in a tight competition that ended with Ormond surging to a 14-point victory at E.E. Gunn Reserve. After the first quarter Ormond was up by a goal, however the game turned in the second quarter, as Beaumaris scored four goals and gained an eight-point lead. Ormond put on their A game and booted 4 goals in the third quarter restricting the Sharks scoring to only 2 points. Ormond’s masterful defense allowed them to control the second half of the game and maintain the lead until the final siren. An outstanding performance from Ormond’s Lucas Stegehuis with 7 goals helped them to their victory. For the Sharks Liam McNamara scored 3 goals, adding to his total of 25 goals this season.
Waverley Park Hawks defeated by AJAX JFC

AJAX remains at the top of the ladder after their 54-point victory against the Hawks at Columbia Park on Sunday. AJAX jumped straight into action snagging an impressive 5 goals in the first quarter and they did not plan to slow down, hitting 8 goals by halftime and 13 by the final siren. AJAX had six players who scored two goals each. It was a tough day for the Hawks as AJAX sprung out the gate to a strong lead. The Hawks showed determination as they tried to interrupt AJAX’s rhythm throughout the game, however, AJAX stuck to their guns and won.

St Peters / Bentleigh defeated South Melbourne Districts AFC

At Centenary Park St Peters / Bentleigh won by 75 Points against SMDJFC. As soon as the game kicked off St Peters / Bentleigh surged to a strong lead. At halftime St Peters / Bentleigh had 42 points on the board opposed to the Swans 12 points. The Swans were unable to score points for the game after halftime and St Peters / Bentleigh continued to add to their points in a dominant performance. This result leaves St Peters / Bentleigh securely second on the ladder.
