Monash University U17.5 Boys Division 1

 

Ormond JFC defeated by Waverley Park Hawks




A dominant performance by the Hawks has secured their 37-point victory against Ormond JFC at E.E. Gunn Reserve. Right from the first bounce the Hawks had the upper hand, scoring a mighty five goals in the first quarter. By the second quarter Ormond was able to slow down the goals fest and scored two more of their own. However, strong efforts by the Hawks who were victorious and held their goal stride to an impressive eleven goals from 15 scoring slots. The Hawks star goal scorer was Thomas McCluskey with a stunning 4 goals. The Hawks have held onto their first position on the ladder, heading confidently into round 7.


AJAX JFC defeated St. Bedes / Mentone Tigers AFC

It was a race till the final siren for the Jackers and the Tigers, but an 8-point difference was all that was needed. At Glen Huntly Park the battle was on as both teams showed a valiant and strong presence on the field. By Half time there was a mere 3-point difference demonstrating the fantastic contest at hand. Although the Tigers held the lead for the first three quarters it came down to the last quarter where AJAX surged to victory. The Tigers star goal scorer was Joshua O’Brien with a spectacular 4 goals. AJAX leading goal scorer for the season Hugo Mack Krasnostein also scored an impressive 4 goals, bringing his total to 16 goals in 2025. All together an amazing effort and contest by both teams.



Beaumaris FC defeated Murrumbeena JFC



The Sharks have managed to avoid rough water once again and swam to a stunning 44-point victory against the Lions at Banksia Reserve. With only a one goal difference at the end of the first quarter the Lions were managing to keep the Sharks at bay, however it wasn’t long until that changed. By half time the Sharks scored 9 goals all together and their momentum carried them to a total of 16 goals by the final siren. The standout of the game was by far Liam McNamara booting an extraordinary 10 goals to his name and carrying the Sharks to another strong victory and the second position on the ladder.

 


St Peters FC defeated Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham



St Peters FC played Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham at Centenary Park in a nail biter with the win coming down to a few goals. St Peters secured the victory with a strong 18-point win, however the game was back and forth as the lead changed many times. At quarter time St Peters held the lead, then before half time it switched. St Peters in the third quarter held on till the final siren. St Peters key goal scorers were Matthew Logan (4 goals) and Lachlan Browne (3 goals). Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham had Lochie Burrows showcasing his talents with an amazing 6 goals.

 

 


Monash University U18 Girls Div 1


East Brighton Vampires defeated by Beaumaris FC



The Vampires and Sharks demonstrated a tight competition at Hurlingham Park. The Sharks held onto their winning streak with a 10-point victory to maintain their top position on the ladder. Beaumaris FC was strong out the gate and won the first quarter. However, the Sharks bit back after a Vampire surge and managed to not only gain the lead by 10 points at three quarter time but also deter the Vampires from hitting the scoreboard. Lily Newman-Morris scored an amazing 2 goals for the Sharks. The Sharks are ready for their next round against St Peters / Bentleigh.



Waverley Park Hawks defeated by St Peters / Bentleigh



A close game took a turn as St Peters / Bentleigh girls put on a masterclass at Wellington Reserve to secure their 33-point victory. By the end of the first quarter, it was neck and neck with both teams at 7 points, and it looked as though we were in for a tight game. However, it wasn’t long until St Peters / Bentleigh managed to push ahead and sustain a comfortable lead of 25-points by half time. Despite their loss the Hawks played hard and showed their true spirits on the field. Isabel Metaxas scoring all 3 of the Hawks goals in a spectacular effort. St Peters / Bentleigh’s star goal scorers were Tess Baxter and Sienna Allan both booting 2 goals.



 Prahran JFC defeated Murrumbeena JFC



Prahran JFC have defeated Murrumbeena JFC with a 24-point victory at Toorak Park. From the start, the game was close with a single point difference at quarter time. A mere 5-point gap at half time but it was the second half that made all the difference. In the third quarter the Lionesses were limited to a single point with Prahran putting up a powerful defense and even stronger attack. Prahran secured their lead after quarter time and did not budge. Prahran now holds onto their second position on the ladder as they head into a well-earned bye for round 7.
