Bentleigh/Highett/Cheltenham defeated by St Bedes/Mentone Tigers AFC

St Bedes/Mentone Tigers have continued their winning streak by defeating Bentleigh/Highett/Cheltenham by 63 points. The Tigers showed dominance at Bentleigh Recreation Reserve proving to excel in contested marks and goal efficiencies. The Tigers dug their claws in, to hold their opposition to only 8 points at three quarter time. The star goal kickers were Hamish Beazley (4 goals), Thomas Curran (3 goals) and Jack Bater (2 goals) amongst others.
As the final siren want, the Tigers roared in excitement! It may have been a tough match for Bentleigh/Highett/Cheltenham, but its only the beginning of the season and time will tell when they find their groove, taking on their rivals. Great performance by Corey Smith kicking 2 goals for Bentleigh/Highett/Cheltenham.
St Peters FC defeated by AJAX JFC

AJAX won their second match in a row reaching triple figures defeating St Peters FC by 76 points. St Peters dominated the first quarter leading 25 points to 9. As it reached closer to half time, AJAX were on a roll matching their opposition kicking 9.5 to be ahead by 33 points at the main break. AJAX dominated at centre bounce clearances only allowing St Peters FC to kick a point in the second quarter. AJAX extended their lead at three quarter time by 43 points. It was a master class by Dion Zukerman booting 5 goals, Aiden Sheffield (3 goals), Hugo Mack Krashostein, Joshua Slade and Samuel Ickowicz (2 goals) and amongst others. St Peters FC showed great promise and strength to fight it out to the end, Mason Thatcher was the star up forward kicking 3 snags for the home team.
Monash University U18 Girls Division 1
St Peters/Bentleigh defeated South Melbourne Districts AFC

St Peters/Bentleigh showcased a strong performance in round 2 against South Melbourne keeping them goal less to half time. South Melbourne got their wings back to get points on the board in the second half. However, St Peters/ Bentleigh were the stronger team on the day. South Melbourne are training hard to get back on track and ready to go for round 3. Well done to St Peters/Bentleigh star player Tess Baxter for kicking 3 goals.
Beaumaris FC defeated Prahran JFC

Beaumaris FC defeated Prahran by 83 points in a strong display. The Sharks victory highlighted their agility, speed and powerful midfielders hunting for the ball, using their kicking efficiencies and sneak attacks to lead to multiple goal opportunities. Prahran navigated their way through choppy water as the Sharks attacked the Prahran’s defence. It was a tough day for Prahran but they are ready to turn it around for round 3. A Shark that showed grit and determination during the match was Amelia Hart booting 4 goals!
