Monash University Under 18 Girls Division 1


Prahran 1.7.13 def by East Malvern JFC 5.4.34

East Malvern bounced back from their tough loss to record a win against Prahran and find some good form to storm into the finals with. East Malvern’s defense proved to be way too strong for Prahran as they kept them scoreless in the first. Prahran managed to hit the scoreboard in the second quarter however, East Malvern continued their strong attack to lead 21-9 at the half. Prahran struggled to score in the second half only managing to add 4 points as East Malvern went on to win 34-13.

Beaumaris 10.10.70 def St Kilda City JFC 1.1.70

Beaumaris is proving to be the team to beat this season after their convincing 63-point win over St Kilda City. The first quarter was tough for both sides to score, with Beaumaris being the only team to hit the scoreboard leading 6-0. The Saints managed to kick 1.1 in the second however, Beaumaris didn’t allow them another score for the rest of the game.


Mordialloc-Braeside 4.5.29 def by East Brighton Vampires 5.5.35

East Brighton Vampires finished their 2023 season on a positive note with a win over finals-bound Mordialloc-Braeside at Gerry Green Reserve. It was a tight contest with the Vampires leading 21-20 at the half. Mordi-Brae managed to keep the Vampires scoreless in the third however, the tables turned in the final quarter with the Vampires keeping Mordi-Brae scoreless to win 35-29.


Monash University Under 17.5 Boys Division 1


Mordialloc-Braeside 6.5.41 def by South Melbourne JFC 8.13.61

South Melbourne continued their strong run into finals with a 20-point win over Mordialloc-Braeside at Gerry Green Reserve. South Melbourne hit form early in the game to lead 11-0 after the first quarter. South Melbourne went from strength to strength throughout the game and went on to win 61-41.


St Kilda City JFC 8.12.60 def Ormond 6.4.40

St Kilda City caused the biggest upset of the season, defeating ladder leaders Ormond by 20 points. The loss for Ormond brings their unbeaten run to an end as well. Ormond started the game off well with a 10-point lead in the first quarter, however, a scoreless second quarter was very costly as the Saints added 4.4 to the scoreboard to lead 36-18 at the half. Ormond was unable to contain the Saints in the second half as they went on to win 60-40 at Peanut Farm Reserve.


Beaumaris 10.16.76 def St Bedes / Mentone AFC Tigers 6.6.42

Beaumaris continued with their hot form leading into finals to record a 34-point win over St Bedes / Mentone at Banksia Reserve. It was looking like a tight contest with the Tigers leading Beaumaris 27-23 at the half. Beaumaris put their foot on the accelerator in the third to kick 6.3 and kept the Tigers scoreless. The Tigers clawed their way back in the final quarter however, this wasn’t enough as Beaumaris went on to win 76-42.
