Monash University Under 18 Girls Division 1


Mordialloc-Braeside JFC 3.7.25 def Prahran 3.6.24

Mordialloc-Braeside continued their winning form with a 1-point win over Prahran at Chadwick Reserve. After trailing Prahran in the first quarter 1-9, Mordi-Brae was able to turn the tables in the second quarter to keep Prahran scoreless to lead by 7-points at the half. Prahran forged a comeback in the final quarter however, Mordi-Brae remained composed for the narrow win.


East Brighton Vampires 3.4.22 def by St Kilda City JFC 5.5.35

St Kilda City returned to the winner's list after defeating East Brighton Vampires. It was a low-scoring affair in the first quarter with the Vampires leading at the break 2-1. A scoreless quarter from the Vampires proved costly as the Saints added 2.2 to the scoreboard. Leads switched again at the end of the third as the Vampires found their groove to lead, 22-26 going into the final quarter. A scoreless quarter again hurt the Vampires as the Saints went on to win, 35-22.


East Malvern JFC 2.2.14 def by Beaumaris 9.5.59

Beaumaris bounced back from their tough loss last week to record a strong win over East Malvern at Basil Reserve. Beaumaris came out of the blocks firing, not letting East Malvern concede a goal in the first quarter to lead, 20-1. East Malvern found it tough to hit the scoreboard all afternoon as Beaumaris went on to win, 59-14. The game was highlighted by a 3-goal haul from Aimee Farrow of Beaumaris.



Monash University Under 17.5 Boys Division 1


Beaumaris 8.9.57 def Mordialloc-Braeside 7.8.50

Beaumaris returned to the winners list with a narrow win over Mordialloc-Braeside. Beaumaris held a healthy lead after the first quarter however, Mordi-Brae clawed a comeback in the second to trail 36-22 at the half. Scoring was even in the third with both teams kicking 2.2. Beaumaris struggled to hit the scoreboard in the final quarter as Mordi-Brae forged another comeback however, this wasn’t enough to trump Beaumaris as they went on to record a 7-point win.


South Melbourne JFC 9.12.66 def St Kilda City JFC 6.10.46

South Melbourne has continued their strong form heading into finals with a win over St Kilda City at Lindsay Hasset Oval. It looked like a tight contest was underway as scores remained level after the first quarter 20-20. South Melbourne was able to break the shackles in the second to hold the Saints to a 2-point quarter and went into the final half with a 9-point lead. The Saints were able to cut the margin to 8-points at the end of the third however, South Melbourne was too strong in the last, kicking 3.2 to record a 20-point win over the Saints.


Ormond JFC 12.10.82 def St Bedes/Mentone AFC Tigers 2.1.13

Ormond is proving to be the team to beat this season after a convincing win over St Bedes/Mentone on Sunday to remain undefeated for the 2023 season. Ormond kept the Tigers scoreless in the first to set their lead up nicely. The game was highlighted by a 4-goal haul from Samuel Bailey from Ormond, which helped them to a 69-point win.
