U17.5 Boys Div 1
Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham defeated St Peters FC

Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham played a dominant game against St Peters securing the victory by 42 points. A magnificent attack brought set the tone for Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham as they managed to score 7 goals by halftime. Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham star goal scorers were Archi Grikis (4 goals) and Riley Crawford, Spencer Saarinsen and Lochie Burrows with 3 goals a piece. Although the performance of Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham was strong throughout the game, the presence of St Peters did not go unnoticed. St Peters scored 32 points in the third quarter to close the score difference to 12 points. Despite their efforts, Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham got the chocolates. St Peters are now preparing to face Murrumbeena JFC next week.
Murrumbeena JFC defeated by Beaumaris FC

The Sharks have swum to a 25-point victory against the Lions at Murrumbeena Park. The Sharks brought their A-Game and had the upper hand from the beginning. Although a 5-point difference separated the two teams the Sharks had other plans to cement their lead. In the second quarter the Lions only managed to score a single point whereas the Sharks booted 5 goals. At halftime it was in the Sharks’ hands, and they were not letting go. In the last quarter the Lions scored 4 goals to close the goal margin. However, it was not enough to catch up with the Sharks. The Shark’s star goal scorer was Liam McNamara with an amazing 5 goals.
AJAX JFC defeated St. Bedes / Mentone Tigers AFC

AJAX defeated the Tigers by 59 points at Glen Huntly Park. AJAX only gained a lead of 6 points in the first quarter, but they quickly demonstrated why they are on top of the ladder. With a total of 10 goal scorers for the match AJAX was nothing short of determined to secure the win. Dion Zukerman (3 goals) and Asher Franks (2 goals) were the top goal scorers for AJAX. Despite the losing margin the Tigers showed conviction in their game and true spirit until the final siren. Tiger’s goal scorers of the match was Beau Segar, Hamish Beazley, Thomas Curran all contributing to the teams hard efforts.
Waverley Park Hawks defeated Ormond JFC

The Hawks soared to victory against Ormond at Wellington Park. Coming back from their loss last week, the Hawks brought their A-Game to the field. Scoring an impressive 5 goals in just the first quarter, the Hawks gained instant control of the game. A 20-point lead after the first quarter, Ormond kicked into gear and scored 3 goals to close the gap to a mere 6-point difference. The Hawks still holding the lead as the intensity of the game lifted. The Hawks star scorer Levi Pitsas booted an incredible 5 goals pushing them closer to their 17-point victory. Despite their loss Ormond’s Luca Stegehuis scored a brilliant 4 goals throughout the game. Now the Hawks are preparing to play Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham who they are neck and neck on the ladder.
U18 Girls Div 1
Murrumbeena JFC defeated by Prahran JFC

In an intense nail bitter of a match, Prahran has secured a 14-point victory against the Lionesses at Scammell Reserve. In honor of IKON Women’s and Girls Round the U18 girls brought a truly entertaining display of football to the supporting crowd. From the beginning it was clear that the game was evenly weighed in skill and the determination from both teams. At the end of the first quarter the teams both managed 13 points each. At halftime there was a single point difference, Murrumbeena securing the lead. After halftime Prahran broke free and began to increase the margin, scoring a stunning 3 goals whilst the Lionesses scored 2 behinds in the quarter. In the final quarter the Lionesses battled Prahran with intensity keeping them in check and only allowing two behinds to be scored. However, Prahran’s earlier lead held them strong and gained them their sixth victory of the season.

Beaumaris FC defeated East Brighton Vampires JFC

The Sharks defeated the Vampires by 21 points at Banksia Reserve. At the end of the first quarter the Vampires were in the lead by a goal. In the second quarter, the Sharks fended off any scoring by the Vampires and gained a lead of two points. From then on, the Sharks held their lead and booted 4 goals before the final siren. The Sharks star scorers were Emma Bates (3 goals) and Jamie Van Rooyen (2 goals). The Sharks are set to face St Peters / Bentleigh next Round which will be one to watch!
Waverley Park Hawks defeated by St Peters / Bentleigh

St Peters / Bentleigh secured a 23 points victory against the Hawks at Columbia Park. At the beginning of the match the close score brought intensity to the game. After the first quarter the Hawks had the lead, however, from the second quarter onwards St Peters / Bentleigh gained the lead. Ruby Hartney snagged an outstanding 4 goals for St Peters / Bentleigh contributing to their strong 9 goals of the match. For the Hawks standout kicker Julia Hipwell booted 3 goals. This match secures St Peters / Bentleigh’s second position on the ladder. However, they now prepare to face off with the top of the ladder Sharks.
