Murrumbeena JFC defeated St. Bedes / Mentone Tigers AFC

The Lions secured a nail-biting 5-point victory against the Tigers at Murrumbeena Park. An unbelievably close game from start to finish. At halftime the intensity of the game rose as both teams were equal at 36 points each. In the third quarter the Tigers secured the lead by 6 points, and it looked as though they were in for the win. However, the Lions stayed determined and kept their spirits high. Booting a strong 3 goals in the final quarter, the Lions pounced into the lead. Samuel Zappulla snagged 2 goals for the Lions. Although the Tigers fell short of victory their star goal scorers were Hamish Beazley (3 goals) and Peter Lambrou (2 goals) contributed heavily to the scoreboard. The Tigers are now preparing for a big game against AJAX JFC next round.
St Peters FC defeated Waverley Park Hawks

Another close game for the boys with St Peters securing a 3-point victory against the Hawks at Centenary Park. The first quarter ended with the Hawks taking the lead by 8 points. From there on the point difference only grew as the Hawks extended the lead and had 8 goals by halftime. Although a 30-point difference separated the lead at halftime, St Peters were not finished yet. In the third quarter the Hawks managed to score two behinds, whereas St Peters brought their A-game and scored a whopping 32 points equaling the score. Further, St Peters matched the Hawks points in the final quarter and won by 3 points. St Peters star goal scorers were Lachlan Brown and Lewis Richardson 3 goals apiece.
Ormond JFC defeated by AJAX JFC

A dominant performance from AJAX secured them a 41-point victory against Ormond at E.E. Gunn Reserve. At the end of the first quarter the teams were equal with 21 points. At halftime AJAX had gained a 3-point lead with the game was still very tight. After halftime AJAX jumped into action, scoring an impressive 5 goals in the third quarter and leading by 34 points at the end of the third quarter. The final quarter saw AJAX boot another 2 goals as did Ormond. However, the dominance and poise of AJAX left no stone unturned to retain the lead. AJAX’s key goal scorers were Joshua Slate (3 goals), Hugo Mack Krasnostein (2 goals) and Manny Micmacher (2 goals).
Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham defeated Beaumaris FC

Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham played Beaumaris FC at Highett reserve in a nail-biter coming down to a couple of kicks. The match started off strong with both teams booting 3 goals in the first quarter and keeping the game tight with a mere 2-point difference. By halftime Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham had a steady lead that they maintained despite the close score of 40 to Beaumaris’ opposing 33 points. As the game continued Beaumaris persevered and showed grit as they played exceptionally well to keep the point difference in check. Liam McNamara scored a stunning 5 goals for Beaumaris. The star goal scorers from Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham were William Warren and Lachie O’Meara 3 goals each. The efforts of both teams demonstrated strong competition and highlighted the tough contest that is happening across the board as the season comes towards finals.

South Melbourne Districts AFC defeated by Murrumbeena AFC

The Lionesses dominated the game from the get-go and secured a 13-point victory against South Melbourne Districts at Lindsay Hasset Oval. Despite the low score the Lionesses scored 3 goals by halftime, controlling the game as South Melbourne Districts had not scored yet. After halftime South Melbourne Districts put points on the scoreboard, and they were able to slow down the Lionesses’ scoring in the last two quarters. The Lionesses came out victorious in a tight affair. The Lionesses star scorer of the match was Amelia Parr with 2 goals.
Beaumaris FC defeated Waverley Park Hawks

The Sharks have swam to an amazing 15-point victory against the Hawks at Beaumaris Secondary Collage. Another entertaining low scoring game brought a true showcase to Sunday’s game as the girls battled it out and the Sharks maintained their lead from start to finish. At halftime the Sharks had a strong 15-point lead hinting in the third quarter the lead jumped to 21 points as the Sharks found their footing. In the final quarter the Hawks showed true determination and booted 2 goals to close the score gap, however, their efforts came up short in another amazing display from both teams.
Prahran JFC defeated by East Brighton Vampires JFC

The Vampires secured an 11-point victory against Prahran at Toorak Park. Taking home their first win since grading rounds. The Vampires scored 2 goals in the first quarter as Prahran only managed 1 goal. The second quarter is where the Vampires showcased their strong game as they snagged an additional 3 goals and a behind to be 32 points up at halftime. As the game continued Prahran managed to score 2 more goals and limit the Vampires scoring majorly, however, the Vampires held strong to their lead and rode it till the final siren. The Vampires Chloe Keyte and Ava Lee both scored 2 goals leading them to victory in Round 12.
