Waverley Park Hawks defeated Beaumaris FC

The Hawks have soared to a 42-point victory against The Sharks at Columbia Park. Utilising their home ground advantage, the Hawks swooped onto a quick start scoring 30-points in the first quarter. By halftime the Hawks secured a healthy lead of 20 points. The star goal scorers for the Hawks were Christian Meddis and Teage Dakin, each with 2 goals. Although the Sharks had a tough match, they continued with pride and grit till the end. The Sharks are now preparing for an away match next week against the second on the ladder, Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham.
Murrumbeena JFC defeated by AJAX JFC

AJAX’s strong presence this season has secured them yet another victory. At Murrumbeena Park, AJAX demonstrated a strong outing with their efficiency and dominant performance that led them to a 69-point victory. After the first quarter, the game was split by a 10-point difference from the teams. However, it was not long until AJAX started strengthening the lead and growing the margin. Hugo Mack Krasnostein was a standout for his goal scoring as he booted a stunning 6 goals. This gives his total goals tally to an impressive 32 goals for the season. Well done Hugo!
St. Bedes / Mentone Tigers AFC defeated by Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham

Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham and the Tigers demonstrated one of the games of the season on Sunday with Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham securing the victory by 1-point. A stunning performance from Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham landed them the victory after being 34-points down at three quarter time. In the final quarter, the Tigers were kept scoreless, whereas Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham managed to score a staggering 36-points to win the match. The Tiger’s Fletcher Gardner, Peter Lambrou and Hamish Beazley each scored 2 goals. The star goal scorers of the match for Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham were William Warren (3 goals) and Archie Grikis (2 goals). Well done to all the players that brought a strong and spirited effort and output to the competition this Sunday!
St Peters FC defeated Ormond JFC

Centenary Park was the scene of another close match as St Peters who secured their victory by 8-points against Ormond. The game began with St Peters strong presence and allowed them to control the first quarter of the match. However, Ormond’s determination saw the margin close to 3-points at halftime. A shakeup of the game in the third quarter saw Ormond gain the lead by 6 points. The final quarter was where the game developed into a powerful competition. St Peters put all their ducks in a row into the final moments of the game and in spectacular fashion the game was won by St Peters. St Peters star goal scorers were Lachlan Browne (2 goals) and Matthew Logan (2 goals).

South Melbourne Districts JFC defeated by Prahran JFC

Prahran defeated the Swans by 23-points at Lindsay Hasset Oval. At the beginning of the match, it was anyone’s game as the teams were tied up with 2-points each at quarter time. As it crept to halftime the game was still very even with a 2-point difference. However, the game quickly changed after halftime as Prahran found their footing and kicked into action. From halftime till the final siren Prahran secured 4 goals to secure another strong win away from home.
St Peters / Bentleigh defeated Murrumbeena JFC

St Peters / Bentleigh brought their A game this Sunday as they defeated the Lions by 92-points. A strong performance from the first bounce led St Peters / Bentleigh to jump to a 32- point lead at quarter time. However, the Lionesses kept their head in the game and pushed through putting up their best foot forward. Jumping into the last quarter with an astonishing 16 goals St Peters / Bentleigh had many contributors, none more so than of their goals scorers. Tess Baxter scored a spectacular 5 goals and Emma Middleton booted 3 strong goals.
