Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham defeated AJAX JFC

A stunning return performance after the school holidays has led Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham to a victory over AJAX. At Highett Reserve, Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham faced tight competition, securing their 8-point victory after an intense back and forth. After the first quarter, the two teams were tied at 13 points each, setting the tone for the match. AJAX gained the lead by 4 points before halftime. However, Bentleigh / Highett / Cheltenham gave an amazing performance in the second half to hold the lead and win.
Their star goal kickers were Riley Crawford and Archie Grikis with a strong performance of 4 goals each. AJAX standout of the match was Hugo Mack Krasnostein who scored 4 goals.
Ormond JFC defeated Murrumbeena JFC

The Monders have boosted their way to a spectacular 16-point victory against the Lions at E.E. Gunn Reserve. From the start Ormond gained the lead, from there they used their skill and poise to maintain control of the game. The Monders had 4 leading goal scorers of the game as they snagged a total of 11 goals to secure their win. Although the Lions weren’t victorious, they brought their best efforts to the final quarter of the match as they took themselves from 40 points behind to only 16 points by the final siren.
Waverley Park Hawks defeated St. Bedes / Mentone AFC

The Hawks have soared to a strong victory of 28 points against the Tigers at Columbia Park. Early in the game the 2 teams were equal with 14 points each at quarter time, however the Hawks swooped the lead out from under the Tigers and carried it away. By halftime, the Hawks had secured a 14-point lead and from there managed to limit the Tigers’ scoring efforts. Christian Meddis, Thomas McCluskey and Cameron Chapple each scored 2 goals for the Hawks. For the Tigers, Hamish Beazley scored a stunning 4 goals contributing heavily to their overall score. However, the Hawks performance was highlighted by Thomas McCluskey 150th game!
St Peters FC were defeated by Beaumaris FC

The Sharks have swum to a magnificent 4-point victory against St Peters at Centenary Park. From the get-go of the match this outcome was not what was in the books for the weekend. Throughout the game St Peters maintained the lead and held it, gaining a 12-point lead at three quarter time and putting them in a good position for the last quarter. However, in the last quarter the Sharks booted 4 goals that closed the gap in the score. The Shark’s Liam McNamara scored an impressive 4 goals lifting them to victory. St Peters star goal scorer was Kyan Morgan with 3 goals. This nail-biter of a game sets an exciting tone for the next round of games to come.

East Brighton Vampires JFC were defeated by St Peters / Bentleigh

St Peters / Bentleigh have leaped to a three-match winning streak after defeating the Vampires by 7 points at Hurlingham Park. A close game brought intense competition to the ground this Sunday as the Vampires gained the early lead in the first quarter. St Peters / Bentleigh brought grit to the game to win the lead and hold onto it. St Peters / Bentleigh had 6 total goal scorers all contributing to their close win. Although the Vampires were unable to fend off their opposition scoring, they managed to jump from 18 points in the third quarter to 37 points as the game ended, effectively closing the lead.
Waverley Park Hawks defeated Prahran JFC

Another unprecedented nail-biter match for round 10 has upped the excitement for the latter half of the season as the Hawks have flown to a 1-point victory against Prahran. The Hawks held the upper hand for most of the game, both teams landing on 15 points each at halftime and then the Hawks losing their lead by 3-points in the third quarter putting spectators on the edge of their seats. The Hawks’ Gemma Patane scored an amazing 2 goals and contributed to the tight scored game, allowing her team to soar to victory in the end.
