The SMJFL is proud to announce the squads selected to represent the league in the 2026 AFL Victoria Metropolitan Junior Development Series, with approximately 200 players across four age groups earning a place in this year's program.
Known more commonly as SMJFL Interleague, the series is one of the most prestigious events on the league calendar and a key milestone in the development pathway for junior players across the region. This year's squads span Under 14 and Under 15 boys and girls, with each age group split across Division 1 (Stars) and Division 2 (Saints).
Selection was made from players participating in the STK Academy program, which partners with the SMJFL to deliver the league's interleague program for players aged 11 to 15.
Matthew Crozier, Academy Pathways Manager at St Kilda Football Club, said the standard of this year's selections reflects the quality of development happening across the region.
"The level of commitment and growth we've seen from players throughout this program has been outstanding. Every player selected this year has earned their place, and we're looking forward to seeing them represent the SMJFL with pride."
General Manager Football Operations at the SMJFL, Nathan Broadbent, congratulated all players named in the squads.
"Being selected for Interleague is a significant achievement and a recognition of the hard work these players have put in at both club and program level. It's always one of the highlights of our year to see so many talented young footballers from across our clubs come together to represent the league."

The games will take place on Wednesday 27th May, Saturday 6th June and Monday 8th June. Full fixtures will be announced this Saturday 23rd May across the SMJFL Social Media pages and on the website.
Congratulations to all the players selected!
*Please note that squad lists are subject to change at any stage, at the discretion of the SMJFL Interleague selection and coaching team.
