On the back of Monday’s State Government announcement around easing some restrictions, the eight metropolitan leagues met with AFL Victoria yesterday.
The current position around training held by all eight leagues and AFL Victoria is that no sanctioned training should take place until “return to training” protocols are established, put in place and accepted by leagues.
AFL Victoria is establishing these protocols and the league is hopeful to have these in the near future.
The SMJFL will present these protocols to clubs and councils once they become available.
A number of considerations around health and safety protocols and insurance need to be worked through prior to training being sanctioned.
The league will provide updates as this information comes to hand.
