Roger Teale has enjoyed a long association with junior football at East Malvern JFC. His son James played over 100 games at the Knights from Under 9s to Under 16s (2003-2010) in the WJFA & MSJFL. Prior he played for 10 years at Collegians FC in the VAFA.

Roger has held a number of official duties at EMJFC including General Committee & Delegate, Vice President and President. He has been an assistant coach and coached the Under 16s in 2010. He was awarded Life Membership in 2009. As President, he grew the membership and sponsorship base of the club and established a Youth Girls team and Colts team to make EMJFC one of Victoria’s largest and most successful junior football clubs. Roger was a member of the WJFA Steering Committee that oversaw the merger of clubs into the YJFL & MSJFL and has had the benefit of working with Football Victoria, YJFL, WJFA & MSJFL across a number of strategic football issues. His greatest highlights have been watching the five Division 1 premierships James (Under 9s - Under 13s) won in the WJFA; the U15s' one-point win in the MSJFL Division 1 Grand Final in 2009; the Youth Girls' team success over the last four seasons - including a premiership in 2010 - and Life Membership.

Roger brings a wealth of senior management and property experience and is a strong supporter of the new governance model of the MSJFL. He is committed to making the MSJFL a strong, independent and vibrant league, underpinned by strong governance, greater player participation, growth in clubs and sponsorship, while creating a clear pathway from Auskick to senior football.
